U&Me Dance at the Majestic is a Ballroom and Latin Dance studio, offering quality dance instruction to Whatcom and Skagit counties since 2002.

 

We offer classes that make learning to dance easy and fun!

Congratulations to
Mary Simler-Evans.

She just received High Honors in her certification of the Argentine Tango!

Mary has been asked to write a section for the Washington Ballroom Dance Teachers Academy out of San Francisco on choreographing. When done this section will be added to the course and taught to teachers nationwide!

Congrats to Nathan and Lecie!

Instructors Nathan Simler and Lecie McNees recently passed their Bronze International Standard Certification through DVIDA (Dance Vision International Dancers Association).

Nathan passed with Honors, and Lecie passed with High Honors. They tested again with Diane Jarmolow, Internationally acclaimed Teacher Trainer and National Examiner through DVIDA. Nathan is also Certified with High Honors through Gold Level in both American Smooth and Rhythm which makes him a Grand Master. Lecie has her Bronze American Smooth and Rhythm certifications with High Honors and is an Associate. They are now working on their Latin Certifications in addition to their busy Professional and Pro/Am competition schedules



Nathan and Lecie and all the Nation’s Finest Dances are at Emerald Ball

U & Me Dance Instructors Nathan Simler and Lecie McNees are in LA right now competing at the Emerald Ball, with the Nation’s Top Dancers. They danced Thursday evening in the Professional Rising Star Smooth and were Semi-finalists. Friday, May 2, 2008 they’ll be dancing in the Professional Rising Star Rhythm and the Show Dance. Saturday Night they dance the Open Professional Rhythm and Sunday the Open Professional Smooth. They’re proud to represent Bellingham at this prestigious event, and we’re so proud of them!

Showcase Is Coming Soon!

Tickets on Sale May 1st It’s that time of year again for U&Me Dance’s Showcase “Joy of Dance”! Featuring fabulous choreographed shows in Cha Cha, Argentine Tango, Waltz and more! This year we’re changing things up a bit: We’re having a Friday Night Show, Saturday Matinee Show where our students will perform and the audience will vote for their top 5 favorite performance.

On Saturday Night, the Top 5 will perform again, along with an All-Star Spectacular featuring Bellingham and Seattle’s Finest Professionals! Tickets will go on sale Thursday, May 1st!

Friday June 6th at 8pm – Student Showcase Evening Show Saturday

June 7th at 2pm - Student Showcase Matinee Saturday

June 7th at 8pm – All Star Professional Show and Top 5 Performance

U&Me Goes to San Francisco!

U & Me Dance Students Anna Kirsch, Susan Haynes, Sheila McCorry and Megan Bloom competed March 28th-31st with their instructor Nathan Simler at theSan Francisco Open! They took many 1st and 2nd places, and Susan even won some scholarship money! Congratulations to these wonderful dancers! They are a credit to their instructor and to our studio.

U&Me Dance welcomes new Instructor Joy McGrath

January 2008

Joy comes to us from Santa Fe, New Mexico (Just like Lecie!) and is certified in Bronze Associate level through DVIDA. Many of you met her at Showcase (as pictured below). Joy is eager to start teaching and meet everyone, and is available for private lessons. Come meet U&Me’s newest addition!

Where to Next?

In June, Nathan Simler and Lecie McNees will attend the Crystal Ball competition in Chicago, hosted for the first time this year by 7 time Latin Champion, and U & Me Dance coach, Ron Montez. www.chicagocrystalball.com

They’ll also attend the Colorado Star Ball in Denver. Hosted by Richard and Jennifer Booth, this should be an amazing comp in the mile high city. www.coloradostarball.com

August brings the Seattle Star Ball! This local competition is a great opportunity for students to compete as well as cheer on our local pros. Nathan and Lecie are currently the Seattle Star Ball Rising Star Smooth Champions for 2007.
