Joy

Instructor

I live for dancing. If I'm not at school, sleeping, or eating, I'm usually at the dance studio. I am there just about every day of the week. I started dancing after my family and I moved from Michigan back home to Washington. My dad, an instructor from Seattle, signed my brother and I up for dance classes the summer we settled in. He told us to stick with it for a year and then stop if we wanted to. And now, 4 years later, you'd have to break my leg to stop me from dancing; even then I might be inclined to dance in the cast! I started with the basics, two group classes a week and the occasional party. Later I added private lessons in for routines with my dance partner. Now I'm there every day, teaching group classes and having a blast at every dance party.

Dance isn't just a hobby for me, it is a lifestyle. I'm currently enrolled at WWU and learning to be a mathematician or a teacher of such. Whatever career I ultimately choose, I will always make time for dance.
