Toni Simler Owner/Executive Director

My real social life started when I began taking dance lessons in April 1995. That’s when I began
buying fun dancing clothes, lots of fancy shoes and going out with people who enjoyed having fun!
I was a student of dance for 4 years so I know what it’s like to be a student in a dance studio.
I retired from Lucent Technologies after working for 30 years! I had several jobs during that time
from Operator to Business Manager when I retired. It was exciting but also very demanding work and
retirement brought a mixture of both relaxation and worry. I wasn’t really ready to retire but
couldn’t pass up Lucent’s early retirement offer.
When Mary asked me to help her start U&ME Dance, I was both excited and nervous. I don’t see myself
as a risk taker and opening a Ballroom Dance Studio has got to be one of the biggest business risks
there is.
It’s been a very rewarding experience and I’m very proud of my family for the way they conduct
themselves in the studio. Together we have created a wonderful place for people of all ages and
levels of dance. I have seen people come together and get married and others who have found a home
away from home. I truly believe we have changed the lives of many people and for that this whole
adventure has been worth the effort!
