Youth Classes
U&ME Dance offers social dance classes for kids ages 10-17 in the beginning intermediate and advanced levels. Social classes, will teach kids how to dance with a partner socially, and allow them to also learn technique and progress in the levels of their dancing.
Levels of dance are as follows
- Beginning = encompasses Bronze levels 1 and 2
- Intermediate = encompasses Bronze levels 3 and 4
- Advanced = encompasses Silver levels 1 and 2
Students will earn certificates and stars to show the level of dance, and which dances they have accomplished. In class they will also earn recognition for completing tasks such as learning a particular technique, or demonstrating specific steps or partnering feats. As a student earns their full bronze or silver level they will take specific national tests and receive recognition and awards.

Wednesday Classes ages 12-17

- Beginning February 24th and running 6 weeks - Cha Cha
- Beginning April 14th and running 6 weeks - Viennese Waltz

- Beginning January 13th and running 6 weeks - Jive
- Beginning February 24th and running 6 weeks - Cha Cha

Medals program
Bronze = Accomplished social dancer, able to dance with most people in most dance situations. Demonstrates good dance technique and proper posture. Demonstrates good connection and partner lead and follow. Dancer is able to confidently demonstrate social dance moves with continuity. Understands and demonstrates good social etiquette. Bronze is divided in to four levels to make the learning easier and not so overwhelming
Silver = Advanced social dancer, able to dance in any social dance situation and can confidently lead or follow, both beginners - advanced dancers. Dancer demonstrates excellent technique and poise, as well as lead and follow technique and connection. Dancer can effectively demonstrate floor craft and continuity with beginning and advanced moves. Dancer understands and demonstrates excellent social etiquette, knows the dance history and culture. Silver is divided into four levels to make the learning easier and not so overwhelming.
Youth Dance Team

We are home to the Bellingham Stars which is a youth competitive and show dance team for ages 10-18. Team is by commitment, not audition, and classes will be every friday from 3:45-6pm. Membership is by commitment so come for a free trial either Friday September 11th or September 18th. See you there.

Youth Performances
Youth Solo Performances
In order to do a Solo Performance, students will need a minimum of 10 private lessons with the instructor of their choice, subject to availability. The lessons will include dance instruction, technique, choreography and practice. Costuming is solely the responsibility of the student.
Youth Group Performances
For a Youth Group Performance, the group must have at least 8 people who are committed to meeting 1 hour weekly at a set time and day, subject to instructor availability. The group must commit to at least 2 six-week sessions at a cost of $70/session. Costuming is solely the responsibility of the student.
U & Me Policies for Youth Classes
- Students must pre-register for all classes.
- Classes with less than 6 people enrolled will be cancelled
- There will be no admittance 15 minutes after the start of class.
- There are no make-ups for missed classes. Private lessons at the youth rate of $60/per lesson must be arranged with your instructor if 2 or more classes are missed.
- There are no refunds, but we will gladly exchange. * Students and Teachers may not fraternize outside of class.
